Welcome to Devonreni Website!

In the beginning there was
chaos ... (that is a house with no animals). Then came two stray cats,
neglected and abounded kittens that my children brought home from the
backyard (Bebas and Igor). Our tomcats were outdoor animals and
unfortunately they stayed with us for only two years. Bebas was run over by a
car and Igor simply vanished. We went all through some hard times after that
loss.
Back then I made a decision,
that any other cat that will live with us will stay indoors. First came
Kotula – a charming cocktail female cat. Later, I wished to have yet another
cat at home, a special one, of rare and extraordinary breed: devon rex.
-
They are world masters at
purring
-
When happy they wag their
tails
-
They have short fur, so
moulting is practically unnoticeable
-
They look like
the extraterrestrial ET, Dobby from Harry Potter or Yoda from Star Wars, and
I guess in one way or another we all dream of such an unearthly friend
-
They easily adapt to their
family members’ way of life; they get up and go to sleep when we do (so
even if you cannot sleep at night, you can be sure that the cat will get
up too and accompany you)
-
Due to their short fur,
they seem to have warmer bodies by touch, in comparison to other cats;
they like to be close to their people, sitting on one’s lap, neck or in
bed under the quilt
-
They are very curious and
have therefore a very positive attitude to other animals; it is in fact
advisable to prevent the devon from being the only cat at home
-
They are unfamiliar with
aggression
-
Cats of this breed remain
small in size, so they seem ideal for our apartments
-
They do not require any
special cosmetic treatments and care, like combing, powdering or baths;
it is enough to just wipe the fur with a silk cloth
-
Devon rex has very original
looks – you either fall in love with them at first sight and touch or
you strongly dislike them; for sure you will not pass by them
indifferently
My
devons, are exactly such a cats!
-
"Devonreni" is a small closed monobreed cattery registered with
FIFE
-
The health of our Devons is one of the
most important parts of our breeding.
-
We think Devons cannot stay
alone for a long time, especially on dangerous trips. Therefore we
never shipped by cargo.
-
Our cats were never caged or
went
outdoors
by themselves, we have not any separate special rooms for cats
only, they live, sleep and eat with us, as family members.
